Champions League: Chelsea vs KRC Genk

As you already know, the Blues at it again last night. A brace from Fernando Torres, a header by Branislav Ivanovic, a late goal by Salomon Kalou and the 25 yards screamer from Raul Meireles opened the floodgate for the Blues.

Meireles kickstarted the floodgate at the 8th minute of the game and oh boy the way he shot the ball totally got the Genk keeper clueless. The ball went close near the goalpost and luckily it found its way at the back of the net.

Nando then followed Meireles footstep by scoring a goal at the 11th minute of the game and it really shows that el Nino finally picked up where he left off since he left Merseyside last January. He did scored a brace and i was hoping that he could get himself a hattrick last night. But, 2 goals from him is enough for a start.

Hehe..the picture above should tell you guys how happy he was when he head the ball and gave Chelsea the 4th goal of the match. With his towering height and strong physical, he's really a threat on air especially in the penalty box

As if he wanted to make up to the goal he 'gave' to Valencia last fortnight, Kalou, which came in as the last substitute finally end the game with a high note for the Blues. Though his goal looked easy (initially triggered by Torres and blocked by Genk's keeper) which is a point blank range in front of the mouth of the goal, he really took the opportunity and made sure the Blues ended the match and a guaranteed 3 points.

As for Genk's Chelsea target, Kevin De Bruyne, he did showed why Chelsea should get him. With a superb pass right from the middle of the park to the frontman, his performance did overshadowed by the Blues flawless performance.

Only 20 years old this year, this young boy did showed his own class and hopefully, if, Chelsea get him, he will flourished with the other young talents the team has bought recently, namely Lukaku, Courtois, Romeu, Piazon and Feruz Islam. Truthfully, as a fan i prefer Chelsea to get the young talents straight from the academy. Just as Barcelona did. It'll shows how superior the team is if most of the young players being sought after from the Bridge. Im crossing my fingers on it. Hopefully AVB will fulfill my wish and set a benchmark to other European elite teams

Chelsea 5 - KRC Genk 0
